community engagement toolbox

Are you involved in community engagement? Old hand or thrown-in-the-deep-end? The Community Engagement Toolbox being developed by Penn State and Project 4E1 is a great resource no matter how long you have (or haven’t) been doing engagement work.

It’s got tools, planning advice and links to an amazing host of resources (American and Australian). The good folks developing it are keen for feedback.

Effective community engagement seeks to better engage the community to achieve long-term and sustainable outcomes, processes, relationships, discourse, and decision-making in a community-context sensitive environment.  http://aese.psu.edu/research/centers/cecd/engagement-toolbox

PS, somewhat unrelated note: if you’re doing your engagement outside, Slip! Slop! Slap! peeps! (Yes, I had another sunspot removed by my very patient doctor this week. The baby getting its vaccination shots in the room next to me whimpered less than I did when faced with a needle.)
